Future Lady Leader Scholarship

Future Lady Leaders Scholarship for Female Further Education

A scholarship to be awarded to a young lady (or ladies) in the community who exemplify the three C’s our organization stands for in their daily life: Confidence, Compassion and Creativity.

We are thrilled to announce our 2020 Future Lady Leader Scholarship winner:

DeAisha Johnson, Gloucester Township Camden County Technical School

We are thrilled to share the recipient of this year’s Future Lady Leaders scholarship, DeAisha Johnson from the Gloucester Township Camden County Technical School! DeAisha is an amazing and inspiring young woman who has a passion for STEM and robotics. She participated in FIRST Robotics and VEX Robotics, where she led her team as captain in building a competition robot as well as mentored underclassmen, teaching them how to write and debug code for robots. DeAisha also volunteered to mentor elementary school students through FIRST Lego League, teaching kids the foundations of building and programming robotics. DeAisha was also a part of National Honor Society as well as National Technical Honor Society. On top of all of that, she played the trumpet in her school’s Jazz Band!

DeAisha continuously donated her time mentoring and teaching children in her community, including bringing the fun of science and STEM to Little Restorer’s Learning Center and volunteering for the FIRST Robotics Mid Atlantic Regional Competition. DeAisha guided students from the Clementon Elementary School robotics team, helping the students to achieve 2nd place in the overall and winning the most prestigious award, the Champion’s Award during their first ever competition!

DeAisha is inspired by Dorothy Vaughn, her studies in FORTRAN and the huge strides she made for marginalized groups in STEM galvanized DeAisha to learn computing and take on the complex computer science discipline. We at Future Lady Leaders Inc, believe that DeAisha will follow in Dorothy’s footsteps to break down social barriers, stereotypes and further diversify the STEM field by pursuing a degree computer science from Princeton University. DeAisha leads by example in her everyday life, stepping up to the plate to care for her family, her community and her future. We are delighted to honor DeAisha with this scholarship award and wish her all the best in continuing to pursue her educations and her dreams!
